Fidel Castro (finally!) steps down. Not sure Raul will be much of an improvement, but....In honor of the occasion, I enjoyed the last of the Cuban cigars that Davey had brought from one of his trips to Canada.
At my age, I even have vague memories of watching Fidel being interviewed during his days as a "freedom fighter." Since we didn't have a television at the time, we were probably at My-Mine and Grandad's (my Bowles grandparents) watching the nightly news with John Cameron Swayze.Thinking of John Cameron Swayze reminds me of the ads for Timex ("...takes a licking and keeps on ticking") and his signature sign-off, "That's the story, folks--glad we could get together."
